Sonja is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts, Maine, and California. She graduated magna cum laude from Boston University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. She subsequently earned her law degree from the University of Maine School of Law in 1999. During her second year in law school Sonja earned special permission to practice with the District Attorney’s Office in Bangor, Maine.

Sonja continued her legal career with a firm in Portland, Maine primarily focusing on products liability, insurance defense, and business litigation. Sonja gained significant trial and litigation experience at the Los Angeles office of a leading national litigation firm, where she specialized in toxic torts, asbestos, products liability, consumer litigation, business litigation, and medical malpractice. Subsequently Sonja defended corporate clients in alleged violations of state and federal consumer protection statutes with the consumer litigation practice group of a firm located in Century City, California.

As a member of the SSJM Attorney Team, Sonja’s practice areas include divorce and family law, personal, construction, consumer and business litigation. Sonja serves individuals and businesses in the Greater Boston and Merrimack Valley areas and practices in all of the ME and MA courts.
